Aimecs Engineering was selected by industry’s heavy weight Goodman Fielder to supply a new pie baking oven for their new production line in Palmerston North.
The project consisted in refurbishing and upgrading an existing gas fired tunnel oven with a 13m extension.
The design, fabrication and commissioning were done in-house and encompassed:
• Defining the new heating power required and upgrading the old furnace by state-of-the-art equipment
• Designing and building a 13 m tunnel extension, with integrated steam lines hook to first section
• Stripping the old unit and fitting a new control cabinet with PLC controlled baking profiles
• Modifying existing and fabricating new feed and retrieving conveyor systems and dispatch tables
The unit was fabricated and pre-assembled in our Auckland premises before being loaded and transported to Palmerston North.
Commissioning was done in June 2018, the oven now being in service for a year with no warranty issues.
